Project Manager (Japanese Speaking)

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to identify new business and project opportunities
  • Understand customer needs and enhance overall customer experience
  • Support tender submissions and RFQs with sales and business development teams
  • Identify required resources, form project teams, and lead them to successful completion
  • Track and manage project scope, cost, schedule, risks, and quality
  • Ensure timely, on-budget, and quality delivery of all project deliverables
  • Estimate work breakdown structures (WBS) with relevant team leads
  • Plan resources effectively to ensure balanced workload and consistent utilisation
  • Develop detailed project plans and monitor progress proactively
  • Escalate risks and issues promptly to Management, proposing mitigation strategies
  • Facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Ensure all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date
  • Conduct steering committee meetings and provide timely updates to sponsors
  • Provide mentorship to team members and support their development
  • Negotiate with senior stakeholders and mediate conflicts when required

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Japanese language for liaising with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders
  • Proven experience in project management with understanding of full product development life cycle
  • Experience in payment or electronics‑related industries is an added advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Strong project management capabilities, including estimating, planning, risk management, budgeting, stakeholder management, and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex issues clearly
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build collaborative working relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership with ability to develop and manage high‑performing teams
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Confidence in engaging senior management and presenting well‑reasoned analysis
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams
  • Proactive attitude with willingness to learn
  • Ability to multi‑task and work efficiently in a fast‑paced and competitive environment
  • PMP certification is an added advantage
