Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead BCBS239 Data Governance project within the Risk Management department, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Execute key data governance activities, including KDE identification, EUC inventory and criticality assessment, data aggregation analysis, and data lineage implementation.
  • Define project scope, milestones, governance structure, roles and responsibilities, and delivery plans using established project management methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Data Management, Finance, IT, Compliance teams, and external vendors to drive execution and resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, reporting frameworks, and presentations for senior management and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience in banking or financial services.
  • Proficiency in Japanese for liaising with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Data Governance or Data Management, preferably in regulatory-driven initiatives (e.g., BCBS239).
  • Consulting firm experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder and team management skills across business and IT functions.
  • Experience working with Risk Management and/or Finance departments, including regulatory or internal reporting processes.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) with experience reporting to senior executives.
  • Understanding of regulatory reporting, internal reporting, finance/accounting processes, and related systems is an added advantage.
