Corporate Strategy Manager – Senior Manager – Director (Japanese Speaking)

Responsibilities

  • Support the holding company in overseeing and enhancing business operations across multiple subsidiaries.
  • Participate in monthly board meetings and annual business planning processes.
  • Review each subsidiary’s business performance, KPIs, and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of business plans and operational performance.
  • Provide constructive feedback and strategic insights to subsidiary management teams.
  • Identify risks, growth opportunities, and areas for operational improvement.
  • Facilitate strategic discussions and challenge assumptions to strengthen decision‑making.
  • Support the development and execution of group‑level strategies and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with subsidiary leaders to ensure alignment with group objectives.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for senior executives and board meetings.
  • Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics within the HR services and recruitment industry.
  • Contribute to improving governance, reporting frameworks, and performance management across the group.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of experience in HR services, recruitment, or staffing.
  • Proficiency in Japanese language for liaising with Japanese‑speaking clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with management teams and COEs.
  • Experience working in regional or cross‑border environments with multicultural teams.
  • Experience managing a team of any size.
  • Ability to review and analyse business performance and operational strategies.
  • Strong logical thinking and ability to ask critical questions.
  • Strong financial literacy, including P&L understanding and KPI evaluation.
  • Experience in business planning processes.
  • Strategic thinking capability with the ability to identify business improvement opportunities.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills when engaging senior leaders.
  • Ability to influence and challenge business leaders constructively.
  • Experience preparing management reports and presentations for senior executives or boards.
  • High level of independence and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in M&A evaluation, PMI, or market expansion is an added advantage.
  • Experience in consulting, business strategy, or corporate planning is an added advantage.
  • Experience working in a holding company or regional headquarters structure is an added advantage.
