Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities aligned with growth strategy.
  • Explore and source investment opportunities across Southeast Asia, including Singapore, India, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
  • Conduct industry and market research to define investment themes and priorities.
  • Originate new deals in real estate, environmental, timber-related, and other growth sectors.
  • Source, evaluate, and execute M&A and strategic investment opportunities.
  • Structure and negotiate joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
  • Design investment structures, perform valuation analyses, and manage due diligence processes.
  • Prepare investment proposals and materials for internal investment committees and support decision-making.
  • Lead post-investment business setup, integration (PMI), and ongoing operational support.
  • Build and manage relationships with local partners, management teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on business plans and performance.
  • Coordinate closely with headquarters and manage internal and external stakeholder communications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • Proficiency in Japanese language for liaising with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English for business communication with regional and international stakeholders.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in M&A execution, joint venture formation, investment, or business development.
  • Solid knowledge of corporate finance, investment analysis, and deal structuring.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of initiative, ownership, and passion for creating and scaling new businesses.
  • Experience in Southeast Asia markets is an added advantage.
  • Industry exposure to real estate, environmental, forestry, or timber-related businesses is an added advantage.
  • Background in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or similar fields is an added advantage.
