Job Overview:
Our client is a leading energy and chemical trading company specializing in biofuels and related products. They are seeking a proactive professional to manage cargo operations while providing market insights to support trading and business decisions.
This is a versatile role combining:
- Cargo Operations (50-60%)
- Market Analysis (30%)
- Business Development Support (20%)
Key Responsibilities:
Cargo Operations (50-60%)
- Coordinate and oversee daily cargo operations for bio-based products, including feedstocks and FAME.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards during cargo handling and transportation.
- Monitor and manage cargo schedules; liaise with shipping agents, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, cargo documentation, and inventory reports.
- Troubleshoot operational issues to prevent delays and maintain smooth cargo operations.
- Collaborate with logistics, quality assurance, and trading teams to optimize overall operations.
Market Analysis (30%)
- Analyze biofuels market trends, including pricing, supply-demand dynamics, and competitor activities.
- Provide regular market reports and insights to support trading strategies and business planning.
- Use market intelligence to identify opportunities and inform decision-making.
Business Development Support (20%)
- Support business development initiatives as needed, including client communications and opportunity assessments.
- Assist in coordinating internal and external stakeholders for business expansion projects.
- Perform ad-hoc duties to facilitate growth and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
[Must Have]
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cargo operations within biofuels or bio-based products.
- Candidates with experience in related sectors are also welcome, including:
- Energy & Fuels: Crude oil, refined petroleum products
- LNG / LPG
- Renewable energy products
- Chemicals & Petrochemicals: Bulk chemicals, specialty chemicals, oleochemicals
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical skills for market research and reporting
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics/market analysis tools
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
[Advantageous]
- Exposure to FAME/feedstocks is highly desirable
- Knowledge of biofuels handling and safety regulations
- Familiarity with shipping documentation and cargo operations
